The EU has adopted regulation which accelerates
the phase-out of single hull oil tankers and will come into
force on 21 October 2003. View a draft of the final consolidated

The IMO will decide the further acceleration of the phase-out
of single hull oil tankers (beyond MARPOL Reg. 13G) based
on EU and other proposals at the MEPC 50 meeting in December
