Pacific Drilling Services, Inc.has signed a contract with ABS Nautical Systems to implement the NS5 Enterprise Hull Inspection module on four of its drillships through the ABS Offshore Newbuild Program. The Houston-based company will also receive Survey Planning Documents for each drillship. The primary intent of this document is to identify areas of the hull structure that are to be surveyed, which can then be used as a means for maintaining compliance with classification.
Pacific Drilling Services will utilize these tools on their newest drillships, laying the foundation for sound hull integrity for the entire service life of their vessels.
Kota Laksamana Management Sdn Bhd, a newly formed ship management arm and subsidiary of PBJV Group Sdn Bhd, has signed a contract with ABS Nautical Systems to implement the NS5 Enterprise software. The Malaysia-based company will utilize the Maintenance & Repair and Drawings Management modules through the ABS Newbuild Program on its ABS-classed vessel, as well as Kota Laksamana’s central office location. The company will also install the NS5 Enterprise Purchasing & Inventory module on the vessel, at the central office and warehouse locations.
Since this is Kota Laksamana’s first vessel, the company wanted a robust system in place at delivery. They evaluated other software systems and chose ABS Nautical Systems’ NS5 Enterprise because the functionality and flexibility of the software was best suited for their needs, especially as they add more vessels to their fleet.
