Offshore Support Vessels Seminar
This seminar will provide an overview of the newly developed Rules for Building and Classing Offshore Support Vessels (OSV Rules). A review of classification requirements, regulatory developments and design trends will be provided. The ABS Guide for Dynamic Positioning Systems will also be covered.

Offshore Support Vessels & Regulatory Updates Seminar
This seminar will provide an overview of the Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) Guide with a briefing on the Special Purpose Ship (SPS) Code and the ABS Guide for Propulsion and Auxiliary Systems for Gas Fueled Ships. A regulatory update on the ILO Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) and Ballast Water Management (BWM) Convention will be provided. Using LNG as a fuel and dual fuel and retrofitting of existing fossil fuel engines will also be discussed.

Technology Challenges: What Happens Next Seminar
This seminar will discuss Rule updates in shaft alignment and lateral vibration analysis, LNG as a fuel (including dual fuel engines and LNG bunkering) and electric propulsion. An update on current ABS Technology initatives will be provided. Findings and experiment presentations from joint project applications with the National Technical University of Athens and NCSR Demokritos will be covered.

Marine Energy Efficiency Seminar
This seminar will focus on the issues related to developing marine energy efficiency and will share with industry the updated information on marine energy efficiency, fleet operation performance management, Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) verification and using liquefied natural gas (LNG) as fuel on ships. ABS has also invited a guest speaker to discuss computational fluid dynamics (CFD) application on ship propulsion.

Natural Gas at Sea Seminar
This seminar will discuss various aspects of LNG including: construction, design options and trends for floating LNG; regasification; the latest developments in Moss-type LNG carriers; and an overview of compressed natural gas (CNG) carriers. Recent developments on dual fuel engines will be presented. Attendees will also be updated on ABS’ work on present and future research and development projects.

ILO Maritime Labour Convention Seminar
This seminar will provide a background on the ILO and the development of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), together with an explanation of its structure including details on the five titles that comprise the Convention, as well as the requirements for shipowners, flag and port States.

ABS Guide for Dynamic Positioning Systems Seminar
This seminar will review and discuss the criteria for the soon to be released ABS Guide for Dynamic Positioning Systems. The new Guide will address current requirements and provide new optional notations, including technical specifications that reflect current industry practice and DP technologies. In addition, ABS representatives will discuss the ABS Guide for Crew Habitability, ILO MLC and Ergonimics as well as bringing on update of the Load Line regulations.
