Another “Hit” for “MIS” Jackups

ABS continues to build on its relationship with United Arab Emirates-based Maritime Industrial Services (MIS) by classing two more newbuild jackups for Bahrain-based MENAdrill. Currently 93 percent of the newbuild jackups worldwide are building to ABS standards.

The two units, Hulls 109 and 110, will be built at the MIS yard in Sharjah. The design is one that ABS is familiar with, the Friede & Goldman Super M2 design with 30,000 foot rated drilling depth and an operating water depth capability of 300 feet.

MIS now has seven offshore jackup drilling rigs under construction in its newbuild programme---all to ABS class.
