ABS Indonesia Country Manager Ravi Chadha attends the strike steel ceremony for the L 201 MSC Gusto CJ 46-X100D jackup design being built for Standard Drilling ASA by Singapore’s Labroy Marine Limited. ABS was chosen as the rig’s classification society.

The jackup is an independent leg cantilever design with water depth of 350 feet and a drilling depth of up to 30,000 feet.

Chadha says this ultra deepwater rig is the first of its kind for Indonesia and it will be built at Labroy’s shipyard in Batam. “We are proud to have been entrusted with this pioneering effort here in Indonesia,” said Chada. His team of surveyors will be overseeing the jackup construction to verify the rig is built in accordance with ABS Rules. The rig delivery date is scheduled for September 2008.
