ABS Pacific management and surveyors attended the naming ceremony for the Agbami FPSO at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in Koje, South Korea. (from left to right) Zibi Puwalski, District Principal Surveyor-In-Charge, Koje Port; Eric Kleess, Korea Country Manager; Mark McGrath, Vice President - Pacific Northern Region; Pierre Dellac, Surveyor, Koje Port; Merih Unuvar, Americas Divisional Lead Surveyor and Agbami Project Manager; and Brian Barton, Principal Surveyor, Koje Port.

ABS classification of this unit included review of the FPSO hull structure, topsides, processing equipment, mooring systems, utility and safety systems as well as accommodations and the offloading systems.   The integration of the topside structure with the hull structure was critical. The 13 topsides modules weigh about 35,000 tons which required close review of the loads as well as calculations for the hull’s strength and fatigue assessment.
