Full compliance with relative API sections for the drilling systems may result in ABS granting the optional class notation ‘CDS’. The jackup legs on the Ocean Scepter are 486 feet in length allowing the unit to operate in water depths of up to 350 feet; the legs can be lowered by means of an electrically powered rack-and-pinion jacking system.
