earlier this month. It is the first certificate issued
by ABS for this type of containment system.

BS Pacific issues the first certificate
for the use of Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) CS1 LNG |
Containment System by Hyundai Heavy Industries
(HHI) and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI).
The certification indicates that a
mock-up model of the system was built in accordance with
GTT requirements and with overall quality workmanship by
the shipbuilders as observed by ABS surveyors. With this
certification, HHI and HSHI are now approved for ship application
of the CS1 membrane type LNG carrier containment system.
ABS is currently in the process of certifying
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) to the
CS1 system.
