ABS Classing 71 MODUs on Order
Worldwide offshore rig demand shows no signs of slowing down as day rates and overall utilization rates have risen throughout 2005. Today ABS has 71 mobile offshore drilling units (MODUs) on order to its classification standards.

Almost 50 years have passed since the construction of the first jackup. ABS has extensive experience with MODUs and, in particular, jackups. A downloadable paper outlining the origins of stability Rules for jackups and their continuing evolution is available here. "The Future of Jack-up Stability: Learning from Our Past."
