The ABS Rule Manager is an interactive on-line database providing a quick and easy way to access the ABS Rules, Guides and Guidance Notes as well as numerous IMO Regulations, Codes, etc. The ABS Rule Manager provides a number of different ways to quickly navigate through the Rules and Regulations including:

  • Browse directly from the Bookshelf; simply select the desired set of the ABS Rules, Guides, Guidance Notes, IMO Regulations, etc. in the database from the on-line bookshelf. • Conduct a Project Search; enter specific information about your project and the system will quickly and efficiently identify relevant requirements for you. The requirements in selected books and documents have been “tagged” with special attributes that allow the ABS Rule Manager search system to identify requirements applicable to a specific type of vessel, system, etc. To view the list of ABS Rules, Guides, IMO documents, etc. that have been “tagged” to support project and subject specific searches, please click here.
  • Search on a Subject; select a particular area of interest and the system will quickly locate the applicable requirements in those books and documents that have been tagged to support subject searches.
  • Perform a Text Search; the system incorporates a powerful and flexible text search feature to quickly locate words or phrases in any of the databased documents. See the link above to view the list of books, etc. “tagged” to support subject specific searches.
  • Use the Glossary; the Glossary provides definitions of terms, phrases and acronyms found in the Rules, along with links to selected related cites.

The system also provides access to reference documents and incorporates various features to assist in navigating around the various Rule sets.
