 Romanian drilling contractor GSP has signed with ABS to class its new multipurpose construction vessel, in addition to changing class to ABS of the third upgraded jackups in a series of 1980’s built units.

Romanian drilling contractor GSP has signed with ABS to class its new multipurpose construction vessel, GSP Titan. The vessel is designed to maximize operational flexibility by combining pipelaying, heavy lift operations and tender assist drilling operations. Signing of the contract took place recently during the shipping industry’s premiere international shipping exhibition, Posidonia, in Greece. Responsible for the design of GSP Titan is Sea of Solutions located in the Netherlands.

In addition, ABS has been contracted by Romania’s offshore driller GSP for the major upgrade of the jackup, GSP Saturn. This unit will be the last of three sister rigs changing class to ABS following the GSP Jupiter and GSP Prometeu.
