Design Review

ABS engineers review design plans of ships and other marine related structures to verify compliance with ABS Rule requirements. These cover hull structures, electrical and piping systems, engines, generators, steering gear, propeller, and other major machinery components.

Survey

During construction, ABS surveyors attend on site to review the building process. They verify that the approved plans are followed, approved material and components are properly installed, good workmanship practices applied, and the Rules are adhered to.

Materials and Components

ABS Surveyors attend manufacturing plants and fabricating shops to witness testing of materials and components in accordance with the ABS Rules.
