New Annex VI to Marpol -Bunker Delivery Notes


Bunker delivery notes for fuel oil loaded shall be provided to and maintained on board the ship for a period of 3 years from the date which the bunker was taken on board. The notes shall contain the product’s name, quantity loaded, sulphur content and density together with a declaration as to the accuracy of the information.

Additionally, representative samples, sealed and signed, of the fuel oil delivered are to accompany the delivery note and are to remain on board until the fuel oil has been consumed, but not less than 12 months after bunkering that fuel oil. The samples are to be tested for sulphur content based on ISO 8754 and for density based on ISO 3675).

Contracting States to Annex VI are also required to maintain a register of suppliers and indicate those suppliers who have failed to meet the relevant requirements.
