Ship Operations - Capacity of Segregaed Ballast Tanks

MEPC agreed to include a new provision which will allow ballast water to be carried in cargo tanks on non-double hull tankers, when the capacity of the segregated ballast tanks is completely utilized.

In addition to heavy weather ballast, ballast required to pass under a bridge or ballast required by a port or canal regulation to achieve a specific draft for safe navigation, ballast required to achieve a deeper draft to accommodate a terminals loading and unloading arms has also been included in a revised Unified Interpretation.
