Reg XII/10:Solid Bulk Cargo Density Declaration
Prior
to loading any solid bulk cargo, the shipper is to provide a declaration
of its density.
For
existing single side skin bulk carriers (>150m length constructed
prior to 1 July 1999) which have not been found to comply with the
requirements for carriage of solid bulk cargoes with a density >1.78
tons/cubic meter, any cargo declared to have a density within the
range of 1.25 to 1.78 tons/cubic meter, must have its density verified
by an “accredited testing organization”. “Accreditation”
