Reg XII/8: Information on Compliance

To indicate compliance with the retroactive structural and stability standards, a loading booklet containing stability and structural limits, maximum allowable deadweight per hold, ballasting rates and capacity, and any loading/unloading sequencing and restrictions, is to be endorsed to indicate compliance with the stability, structural and survey requirements as noted above.

Further, ships subject to loading restrictions in order to comply with regulation 6 will be identified by a solid equilateral triangle permanently marked 300mm below the deck edge, amidships, on both sides of the ship.

Separately, under SOLAS Regulation VI/7.2, the above mentioned loading booklet is required to be on board all ships > 500 gt carrying solid bulk cargo by 1 July 1998, although it need not be in an approved format until 1 July 1999 for ships subject to the provisions of SOLAS Chapter XII.
